Acredale

Artist of the Month | October 2019

Sound techs love us! They never know what to expect. But when we show up with our guitars, mandolin and fiddle all using K&K pickups and XLR preamps their job gets a whole lot easier. Not only do our instruments sound incredibly natural through the sound system, they don’t even have to put a direct box on stage. I constantly get asked by techs and other musicians how our instruments sound so great, and my answer is always K&K pickups! Thank you K&K for your amazing products!

Acredale use the Pure Mini, Banjo Twin, and Violinissimo pickups in their instruments.

Acredale is Brent Gable, Michael Munden, and Coleman Senecal. Brent and Michael met in the early 80s at a 24 hour music marathon for charity and their pathways have crossed ever since. Their first group was the band Just Plain Folk and was formed in the mid 80s. They played coffee houses and bar rooms up and down the east coast. They have performed together as a duo and in bands in countless bars and festivals. One of their bands Sea Aira put out a cd in the early 90s that was well reviewed, received radio airplay and they also won a major talent contest. They opened shows for the likes of America, David Wilcox, and Iris Dement to name a few.

Brent Gable started playing the guitar and singing in his early teens and began writing songs soon after. He tends to write songs that tell a story and that draw you in for an unexpected ride. He is an accomplished fingerstyle player and has a particular fondness for country blues and Americana music.

Michael Munden can play practically anything with strings on it and has been a musician since his teens also. He is well known for his tasteful mandolin, banjo, and pedal steel work. Brent likes to say Michael is the glue that holds it all together.

Coleman Senecal is Brent’s daughter so she has been around acoustic music her entire life. She started playing fiddle and singing at an early age and graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College with a major in Music Performance.

You can expect to hear them playing mostly original songs with a few others they can’t seem to get out of their head thrown in for good measure.
