PowerMix Pure SystemS

The PowerMix Pure System is a dual-source pickup/pickup combination with onboard or external preamp. It consists of:

• The PowerMix 2-Channel Preamp, an onboard preamp with amazing mixing capability. For customers who would prefer an external preamp, we offer the PowerMix Pure System with our Dual Channel Pro ST Preamp.

What are the benefits of a two-pickup system?

The Pure and FanTaStick pickups blend beautifully. More than the sum of their parts, the pickups create an impressive microphone-like tone quality with definition and power that is unprecedented in today's guitar pickup market. Blended in the proper ratio, there is absolutely NO quack but tremendous stage volume before feedback! The natural wood characteristical tone quality of the Pure pickup PLUS the added power and definition of the FanTaStick will come through for you. The K&K Pure pickups are the finest bridgeplate transducers on the market today. They truly deliver the clarity and "roundness" of your guitar's natural sound. Thousands of happy guitar players using the Pure Pickups will vouch to that. The FanTaStick is one of the most distinguished, amazingly sweet sounding undersaddle transducers available. It provides high gain-before-feedback, lots of clarity and sound definition. The FanTaStick's piezo crystals are specially hand selected for their acoustic signal strength and string to string balance. Unlike other undersaddle transducers, the FanTaStick's crystals are oriented towards the guitar-top and not towards the strings to create a warmer tone and a maximum reception of soundboard sound.

How does the PowerMix Preamp work? How is it installed?

The PowerMix Preamp allows for precise sound adjustment of each transducer. It features gain, bass, mid, treble and volume controls for each individual channel and uses low-power consumption parts so that the battery life is up to 120 hours. The output jack is a high quality Switchcraft endpinjack, wired so both channels are mixed together for MONO use with a standard mono guitar cord.

The preamp can easily be installed deeper inside the guitar as shown in the photo above. The removable attachment system will not damage your guitar's label. For initial adjustment, we recommend a sound-hole placement of the preamp as in the photo. After you are finished adjusting your personal sound, you can choose to position the preamp deeper inside the guitar. The double volume control element (highlighted in the photo above) is designed for internal sound-hole edge mount.

All parts of the system can be installed non-destructively without hole drilling other than the endpin hole. The components are meticulously phase aligned.

  The PowerMix Pure Western now comes standard with the Mini pickups. The 1/2" diameter Mini pickups will fit ANY steel string acoustic guitar. Direct installation with superglue is required for optimum performance but the system is still removable without damaging the guitar (you may damage the pickup though). Installing the pickups is a breeze with the included mounting jig, detailed instructions, and superglue.
