K&K Sound Artist of the Month

David Tomaloff

Instrument: Acoustic Guitar, Martin 00-15, 000-15, and 000-15S

David uses the K&K Quantum Trinity Western System an all guitars and says:

Amplifying an acoustic instrument is always a bit of an arduous task; especially if you are doing a lot of solo singer/songwriter stuff, as I do.
It's important that your instrument actually sounds like an acoustic instrument and not a tuned cheese grater. I chose my guitars for their individual sounds and the K&K Pure Western Mini is the only pickup system I have felt does those sounds justice; add in a bit of the Trinity microphone and it gets even better.

Bio: David Tomaloff's music comes across something like the sound of wood and sparks; a unique and ardent blend of Americana , Roots, and Folk Rock loosely reminiscent of such artists as Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams, and Joe Henry.

Tomaloff has been best known for his work with the independent rock and roll outfit, The Dammitheads, whose two self-released albums garnered a fair share of critical praise and song placements on such television shows as "Invasion" and MTV's "Real World: Road Rules".

His most recent musical incarnation finds Tomaloff decidedly many miles from the Dammitheads' sound, immersed in a unique and ardent blend of Americana, Roots, and Folk Rock, all distilled and delivered in the form of his most accomplished and compelling work yet; a ten-song album titled, Birds on Wires.
