K&K's Artist of the Month: Walt Young

"I
am a solo artist, I perform my own music. I play acoustic guitar, and
the Australian didgeridoo (at the same time) along with ankle percussions.
As one person once called my music 'primordial boogie.' I also enjoy composing
acoustic solo guitar selections ranging from acoustic style rock pieces
to mellow mood finger style guitar. Just about all my music is in open
tunings or some sort or another.
My basic roots go back to the 60s and early 70s Woodstock era. Venues include coffee houses, large corporate functions, to local, statewide and world festivals. One of my didgeridoo and guitar songs 'BC Boogie' has been included recently on a world didgeridoo CD 'Didgeridoo Planet 3' that includes didgeridoo artists from all over the world. Also music off my CD is used as the regular background music on a Sacramento TV show 'Northern California Journal' produced by Raleigh Adams.
I really do not play out as much as I should or could but when I do I enjoy it to no end and meeting new friends. Hope to meet you sometime in the music world."
Walt uses K&K's Pure Western Mini in his guitar and says: "Over the years I have collected a quality assortment of didgeridoos and acoustic guitars. There has to be something unique or compelling about the sound of an instrument be it guitar or didgeridoo to make it into my personal collection. This being said I am equally as pickety about any after market sound system I might install on a pricey instrument. I recently installed the Pure Mini system in a new Martin 000-28 that comes without onboard electronics, and wow! I am looking forward to performing with it as it reproduces a totally natural sound of the guitar and is very non-obtrusive. The Pure System is all everyone claimed it to be in the reviews. Nothing was over represented the slightest. Must say I am 110% happy with K&K's system. Very doubtful I will buy another expensive acoustic guitar with the typical pre-amps cut into the side of them now that I've experienced K&K's quality of sound."
