Steve Brook
September 2006
Steve was born in Gibraltar, a British colony in the very south of Europe and has since lived in Gibraltar, England and Spain.
Very much influenced by life and very much the 'artist', he is ever keen to capture image and emotion in song, on canvas or in print.
With acoustic guitar in hand, a pleasant voice and inspiring lyrics, he is very much the image of the folk singer, but his songs also have an air of light pop, country and in some cases, a quite obvious spanish feel.
He is a self-taught musician and on most of his recordings is responsible for lyric, melody, arrangement and production.
His guitar line up includes steel-string acoustics, nylon-string spanish guitar, electric guitar and 5-string banjo.
Steve is relatively new to the public eye but interest in his music appears to be growing in parallel with popularity.
He has played various venues in England, Los Angeles and Spain and his songs have featured on a number of radio stations.
Steve uses the K&K Pure Western Mini: "[I am] very pleased with sound quality & volume and ease of installation with no visible buttons or holes, etc. on the guitar. Also pleased with the pre-amp, always nice to have that extra personal control of volume and EQ as I switch from heavy strum to gentle fingerstyle. I'm now about to order a Pure Classic for a new nylon string guitar. I have also done a demonstration of the mini on my Taylor 714 for local Luthiers who were extremely impressed."
