K&K's Artist of the Month: David Berchtold

David
has been playing acoustic guitar for over 30 years. For the past 10+ years
David has been exploring various finger picking styles.
His playing shows the influence of some of his favorite artists, which include Chet Atkins, Doc Watson, Gregg Allman, Leo Kottke, Big Bill Broonzy, John Fahey, Rev. Gary Davis, and Jorma Kaukonen, just to name a few.
For the past 4 years, David been playing to satisfied audiences in restaurants, coffee houses, fairs, festivals, and concert halls across Central Illinois. David has just released his debut CD titled "Things I've Seen" - a mix of fingerstyle instrumentals and songs about life.
David uses the K&K Pure Western Mini: "Love my K&K Pure Mini pickups! I've had one on my Collings D1A for over a year now and its worked out great. Small venues or large, I always get great tone and plenty of volume. I'm constantly getting comments on how good my Collings sounds live. And that's without a mic!"
