Mark grew up in Dallas, TX and studied at NTSU (now UNT), where he was very active on the Dallas blues scene. Mark is featured on several recordings on TopCat Records (www.texasblues.com) and has performed with Robert Lee Kolb, Betty Lewis, Bugs Henderson (www.bugshenderson.com). Mark relocated to MS gulf coast in 1997 to play with casino shows. Now, he play with several corporate bands along with the "Swamp Pop" band EasyStreet (www.easystreetsounds.com). Swamp pop is music based in the Southeastern Louisiana that is a spicy gumbo mixture of zydeco, soul, country, funk and blues.
Mark uses the K&K's CXM5 Saxophone Microphone: "I briefly checked out the mic on a powered monitor and I am very impressed with it. I am a 48 yr old pro player and over the years I have used the Shure 98 wireless and also AMT Roam wireless systems. Recently I decided that I was tired of transmission/signal cutting out and am convinced that being wireless VS hardwired that something is missing in the signal/sonic presence going to the board. So I bought a very nice sounding EV Blue Cardinal stationary mic which actually works darn well. Thing is I miss the freedom I had using a clip-on and my neck gets stiff having to keep my horn in one position pointed at the mic on the stand. This CXM5 is exactly what I am after. Not only thanks to K&K Sound do I have a nice clip-on that is hardwired but also the luxury of controlling the volume right from where ever I happen to be. Before with my other systems that costs several times what the K&K cost if I really wanted to I could run over to the transmitter/receiver and adjust the gain...it was usually across the stage when I needed it or at best 8-10 feet away. The proof will be when I get to use it on a job with a full PA but from what I can tell this is a very nice sounding and performing mic. Seems to certainly capture the entire range of the instrument very well without distortion or crapping out on either the high or low end. Also I really like the clip, so simple to use and with the additional neoprene padding you provide cuts way down on key noise. Very well done, I couldn't be happier with my purchase, your mic and your great delivery, communication and service."
