The system consists of a set of 42 pickups (one for each bar plus 5 spare), two collecting rails with volume trimpots for each individual bar and the Mini Mixer with all cable and hanger accessories, transport cases, mounting materials, and detailed instructions.

The K&K vibraphone amplification system is played by Mike Mainieri, Dave Samuels, David Friedman, Joe Locke, Tom Toyama, and many more. It was also used by the legendary Lionel Hampton. His instrument, with the K&K system, was donated to the Smithsonian Museum on his 90th birthday.

Since we had to discontinue the MIDI systems, we have been searching for a substitute and we finally found a unit that works very well. It is the Eventide Pitch Factor. We think this is the best effect unit for vibe or marimba on the market today. It functions as a superb stereo chorus pedal (better than anything else!) and, on top of that, opens up a world of sounds you would normally just get with a polyphonic Midi system. If features 4 pitch shifter engines, which can be used simultaneously and each pitch-shifted tone can be used in real-time or delayed. With this technology the original vibe tone can also be digitally re-shaped into very interesting sounds that resemble anything from a smooth flute to an agressive electric guitar. It is very versatile and outstanding in the amount of sounds and features.
