Ryan Weber
Ryan uses the Bass Master Pro System on his upright bass.
He playes in the legendary frontman Ronnie Hawkins Rockabilly group "The Hawks", as well as with "The Weber Brothers", both groups are international touring outfits, playing all year round.
Ryan wrote us: "I was born on August 25, 1980 out in Baltimore Maryland. I grew up in a
nice town called Westminster and started playing the bass shortly after Sam
started on guitar. Up to that point I was just going to be the singer, I was
11 years old. We formed our first band called Illegal Aliens and started
playing gigs around town. After that group split there were others, most
notably The Northern Lights . We were doing pretty good in Westminster and
the surrounding areas so we decided to move out and conquer the world.
As the rest of the group was not able to come with us, it was just me and
Sam again so the name changed to The Weber Brothers. We moved to Canada and
joined up with one of our all time greatest hero's Ronnie Hawkins .
Playing music is all I know. I've had 21 day jobs and none of them ever
seemed to work out. I live for rock music and nothing else.
I like the old
stuff, mainly Chuck Berry , Little Richard, Marvin Gaye, and Elvis .
I am very proud of our own music and I hope that you will like to. There is
more on the way.
I have used the K&K bass master pro on my bass for a number of years now and I have never even thought of changing. From bigger concert settings to smaller bar gigs the K&K always gives the best and strongest sound I can imagine. There's always plenty of volume and great slap tone, as well as a nice fat warm chunky bass tone which I can tweak depending on the gig and room. To me it really sounds like an acoustic bass coming through an amp, which is what a bass is supposed to sound like and what every upright player is after. Being able to set your own sound to your own liking is a major plus as well, I would recommend K&K to anybody who is looking to make their bass sound good.
Well, I guess I've talked enough here, so I'll see you down the road
sometime."
