C. Paul Buckles
K&K pickups make my guitars sound so natural and real. I have a Pure Classic on my 2003 K.S. Lofquist Spanish guitar, A FanTaStik cllassic on my 1918 Martin 1-18 and Pure Western Steel String mini on my 1995 Epiphone EJ 212 VS.
I get compliments on the sound of everyone of these guitars when I play. Everyone at K&K has been so helpful since my first purchase back in 1995. They answered all of my questions and were very kind and patient in doing so, even though I ask for a lot of detail.
The proof is in hearing. Whether I'm playing live or recording, they are quiet and sound great. My CD ‘BossaNovaNights” (© 2006 Cottonwood Shade Recordings. www.calvinbuckles.com ) was recorded live using my Lofquist with a Pure Classic. When the occasion calls for it , I use my K&K outboard preamp to boost the gain or provide extra tone shaping capabilities.
